A Guide to Artificial Intelligence for CIOs

Will AI change how we think about IT and leadership?

Surviving in today’s competitive world requires businesses to efficiently utilize available resources and take appropriate strategic decisions that lead to better efficiencies. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming work and simplifying how businesses operate. AI accelerates innovation by making every interaction, experience, and process more intelligent. Combining automation with AI is expected to release $134B in labor value next year, according to IBM.

So, how can automation transform your business by optimizing internal processes that eliminate manual processes, deliver exceptional digital customer experiences and better business performance? Let’s discuss.

Although cloud and data remain front and center for most CIOs, they are also looking at how emerging trends and technology can be beneficial for their organizations, not only now, but in the future. According to a recent PwC Pulse Survey AI tops the list (61%) as very important to a company’s products and services strategy. It is further endorsement that AI and algorithms are now viewed as a recognized technology. It can be used to create and leverage better customer experiences and improve decision-making. In addition, AI is being utilized to innovate products and services.

AI is Transformative

This type of intelligence is transformative, universal and it is happening right now. Leading organizations are already leveraging this type of technology, which is why CIOs should keep it front of mind. CPG’s, Retail and Financial Services businesses are using it to create seamless, insightful, and proactive customer and user experiences. AI can take away some of the manual, mundane tasks bettering the employee experience – but it can enhance the customer experience by making things more personalized. AI help companies listen to their customers and listen and connect the conversations they are having on various social media platforms, chatbots, emails, phone calls, SMS, etc.

Most modern corporations are already using AI to predict sales, support cyber security endeavours, and as previously mentioned, observe social media sites for customer movements. A by-product of AI is the plethora of data that it creates which cannot be ignored. Data needs to be in order, not living in silos, and easily accessible to provide actionable insights.
